A global automotive manufacturer is seeking an experienced Vehicle Analysis Team Leader to establish and lead a newly created Vehicle Analysis Team in Japan.

This strategic leadership role focuses on benchmarking, vehicle teardown analysis, UX research, customer value analysis, and developing engineering standards that improve vehicle quality, safety, comfort, and overall customer experience for the Japanese market.

Responsibilities
Vehicle Benchmark & Teardown Analysis
Lead competitor and in-house vehicle teardown projects
Develop benchmarking strategies and evaluation standards
Analyze vehicle structure, quality, usability, and customer value
Customer Experience (UX) & Technology Analysis
Research emerging technologies, materials, and UX trends
Build evaluation methods for customer experience
Recommend improvements for future vehicle development
Development Guideline Creation
Establish engineering guidelines based on customer confidence, comfort, usability, and quality
Continuously improve development standards
Cross-functional Development Support
Share analytical findings across product planning, engineering, and quality assurance teams
Promote technical standardization throughout the development process
Team Management
Lead and mentor engineering members
Project planning and scheduling
Quality management
Vendor management
Performance management
Global Collaboration
Collaborate with overseas R&D centers
Coordinate with global engineering teams
Present technical reports and recommendations
Requirements
Required
Experience in automotive product development
Strong analytical skills from customer and UX perspectives
Team or project leadership experience
Excellent communication skills
Native-level Japanese
Bachelor's degree or above
Preferred
Benchmark analysis experience
Vehicle evaluation experience
Quality improvement experience
UX research experience
Business English
Experience working with multinational engineering teams
Available for international business travel
